Chatman looks like a cute toy and hooks up easily to your computer through a USB cable. Your child can name their new friend, give it its own personality and interact with it. While your child is chatting with friends, playing games or doing homework, this new toy will monitor all of their online activities. Your child is protected and you can now have peace of mind because this device will protect your child by monitoring the sites your child goes to and steering them away from any inappropriate websites that may inadvertently pop up. Through its huge vocabulary, movements and ability to convey up to 30 emotions, it will also help your child figure out the tone of emails or chats.

Chatman can set reminders for your child, so that they will be able to remember birthdays, homework assignments or whatever else your preteen is prone to forget.

My daughter loves to play dress up.  She changes into ‘fancy clothes’ soon after she gets home from school almost every day.  She’s not lazy about changing into her fancy clothes either!  Fancy shoes, leggings or tights, a sweater, sometimes a tutu, a bit of blush, and always some sort of hair accessory.  Today she was so excited when she saw what she received from Chelsea-Baby.com, a beautiful headband and snap-on bouquet.  She tried the headband with her hair up first then decided it would look prettier with her hair down.  Such a tough decision, right?

It is always surprising when a product or service that has a huge following decides to pack it in and call it quits. Recently, Picnik joined this exclusive and, thankfully, small group. This online photo editor was the product of choice for bloggers all over the world.

Bloggers not only used Picnik for perfecting the images they included with their posts, it was ideal for creating the perfect blog header.

With Picnik exiting the market space, there are a ton of online services that want to absorb their users. Bloggers in particular have unique needs that most will not be able to meet. Still, there are a couple online image editing software products worth considering.

2012 Kenmore Blogger SummitI am attending the 2012 Kenmore Blogger Summit in Chicago next weekend and Kenmore gave me a little challenge to pass on to my readers.

Kenmore knows that when tasked with the overwhelming demands of day-to-day chores, a little creativity goes a long way – and helps stretch our resources a bit.

So here’s the question!

Kenmore wants to know: What is your most unusual, yet practical, use of a common household appliance?

We all get creative with our appliances, right? While I’m not recommending that you do this, I have been known to microwave a shoe or two to dry them after washing them.  I have heard of washing toothbrushes in the dishwasher.  Strange but true.  My son used to make ‘concoctions’ using our blender when he was younger.  With adult supervision of course.
