On almost every hanger in my daughter’s closet is a piece from Old Navy, Carter’s, or The Children’s Place. A few of my favorite ‘designer’ pieces of her’s are her bright red Lacoste tee, pale pink Izod dress, and a black Ralph Lauren sweater. When I buy clothes for my kids I look at quality and cost. I want my kid’s clothes to last at least a few months which can be a challenge seeing as how they love being outside. The Children’s Place has proven to offer great quality clothes for my kids year after year. I bought my 13-year-old son a sweatshirt from The Children’s Place just about a year ago (the largest size) because I wanted him to have a sweater that would hold up to his level of outdoor activity.
Every year at Christmas time, Easter, and Valentine’s Day, we used put our daughter in themed clothes. That is until she started picking out her own clothes about a year ago. Gone are the days when I could take my favorite holiday themed dress out of her closet and expect her to slip it on. She has to choose her own outfits now. I can however lead her in a direction such as wearing pink and red on Valentine’s Day. I even thought about going so far as to take everything that doesn’t have red or pink on it out of her closet in the middle of the night before Valentine’s Day but I think she’d freak out if I did that so I won’t go there.

Everyoneâs favorite Pteranodon family rides the DINOSAUR TRAIN Submarine to meet sea creature friends in an all-new science special airing February 18th on PBS KIDS.

Everyoneâs favorite Pteranodon family will dive into an underwater adventure in âSubmarine Adventure.â The one-hour program will feature four new stories about sea creatures that lived during the âAge of Dinosaurs.â Preschoolers will meet new friends along the way â from Otto Ophthalmosaurus to Archelon turtles â as they learn about natural science, natural history and paleontology. As part of this multiplatform event, DINOSAUR TRAIN will also feature new content online and on mobile this February. The special will also be available on DVD starting February 19th.
âPBS KIDS strives to use media to light a spark â a thirst for learning that will empower kids to actively pursue their interests long after the screen is turned off,â said Lesli Rotenberg, General Manager, Childrenâs Programming, PBS. âDINOSAUR TRAIN leads kids on this path of exploration with content that is fun and educational, like the âSubmarine Adventureâ special, which will engage kids in learning natural science and paleontology concepts, while also inspiring them to embark on their own learning adventures in the world around them.â

âOtto Ophthalmosaurusâ
When the Pteranodon family takes the Dinosaur Train under the sea to visit their friend Elmer Elasmosaurus, they learn that the Elasmosaurus family is leaving the station to follow their food â the fish. Buddy wants to follow, but the train tunnel doesn’t go that way â so Mr. Conductor decides to take the family in a brand-new invention, the Dinosaur Train Submarine! On their journey, they meet a marine reptile called Otto Ophthalmosaurus, who guides the submarine deeper than itâs ever been, and even helps them find their way out of a sea cave.
âShoshana Shonisaurusâ
The Pteranodon family goes under the sea again to ride the Dinosaur Train Submarine â this time they go to meet Shoshana Shonisaurus, an enormous marine reptile thatâs something between a dolphin and a whale. Since Shoshana loves to dive very deep, Shiny has a problem with following her to the bottom of the sea. Shoshana kindly helps Shiny get over her fear of diving deep.
âMaisie Mosasaurusâ
The Pteranodon family goes back underwater in the Dinosaur Train Submarine and meets Maisie and Marvin Mosasaurus, a daughter and father who are huge, fast-swimming lizards with flippers. Maisie and Shiny bond when they discover neither likes to go deep in the water. The Pteranodons and Mosasaurus have a great time near the oceanâs surface, each family showing the other how they hunt and catch fish to eat.
âA Sea Turtle Taleâ
The Pteranodon family is on the beach watching small eggs hatch and baby Archelon turtles emerge and start to swim away. The family and Mr. Conductor get into the Dinosaur Train Submarine and follow the baby Archelons, who discover their own facts of nature â that their mother doesnât stay with them after theyâre born and that they will grow up to be giant-sized sea turtles.
Both full episodes and clips from âSubmarine Adventureâ will be available on the PBS KIDS Video Player at PBSKIDS.org/video and on the PBS KIDS Video App beginning February 19th.

Before a trip, especially a blogger trip, I make sure that I move my most frequently used travel related apps to my HTC One X+ homescreen. Â Some of my most used apps during travel are Delta for checking flight status, Foursquare for checking in, Pandora for music, Yelp for local restaurant reviews, Hootsuite for Twitter & Facebook updates, Instagram for fun photos, Google Maps for directions, Camera for taking photos, Skype for video chatting with family, and WordPress for blogging.
I mostly use my phone as my camera when I’m on trips. Â I take a camera but chances are I’m going to snap the best and most candid photos with my smartphone, not my camera, because my phone is easier to get to. Â And, it’s easy to share photos I’ve taken with my HTC One X+ with friends and family, and my social networks, in a snap!
On to my dream vacation
I stayed at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa in San Diego California a couple of years ago for a media trip with Honda and have wanted to go back, with my husband, since. Â While I have a few favorite places right here in Georgia that we travel to often for vacation, I would love for my husband and I to go on a vacation.. sans kids, sometime. Â In the 14 years that we’ve been married, we have been on one (mini) vacation without the kids and that was a media trip for a cruise line about 5 years ago. Â Hardly a vacation.
If I plan an amazing vacation my husband can’t say no, right? Â Did you know that you can plan a vacation right from your smartphone? Â There are tons of Android apps that will help you plan your dream vacation from flights, to hotels, to restaurants, and playgrounds!
The 2 top apps I used to plan my dream vacation
First, I checked the Delta app on my phone to see how much a flight to San Diego would cost.
Then I searched for Estancia La Jolla using Expedia, Yelp, Kayak, and YP apps where I read reviews and got details about the hotel & spa and even checked room availability. Â I was very happy to find that Estancia La Jolla gets rave reviews!
It looks amazing, doesn’t it?
I don’t think my husband will argue about my dream vacation destination. Â I would love for the 4 of us to travel overseas to Italy, France, and Ireland but I can’t imagine finding the time anytime soon. I’ll keep you updated if that changes.
