Hurry and Get Your Kid’s Valentine’s Day Clothes @ChildrensPlace!

On almost every hanger in my daughter’s closet is a piece from Old Navy, Carter’s, or The Children’s Place.  A few of my favorite ‘designer’ pieces of her’s are her bright red Lacoste tee, pale pink Izod dress, and a black Ralph Lauren sweater.  When I buy clothes for my kids I look at quality and cost.  I want my kid’s clothes to last at least a few months which can be a challenge seeing as how they love being outside.  The Children’s Place has proven to offer great quality clothes for my kids year after year.  I bought my 13-year-old son a sweatshirt from The Children’s Place just about a year ago (the largest size) because I wanted him to have a sweater that would hold up to his level of outdoor activity.

Every year at Christmas time, Easter, and Valentine’s Day, we used put our daughter in themed clothes.   That is until she started picking out her own clothes about a year ago.  Gone are the days when I could take my favorite holiday themed dress out of her closet and expect her to slip it on.  She has to choose her own outfits now.   I can however lead her in a direction such as wearing pink and red on Valentine’s Day.  I even thought about going so far as to take everything that doesn’t have red or pink on it out of her closet in the middle of the night before Valentine’s Day but I think she’d freak out if I did that so I won’t go there.

The Children’s Place has some super cute pink and red pieces out now that are perfect outfits for Valentine’s Day.  I know it’s a little last minute but I’m sure your local mall has a The Children’s Place you can run to tonight to pick up some clothes for your kids to wear on Valentine’s Day.

Here is a peek at what The Children’s Place has to offer this Valentine’s Day

Personalized Post-it Notes, the Perfect Gift for a Teacher

Valentine’s Day and other holidays provide your child the opportunity to express her appreciation for what her teacher does every day.  While your child’s teacher surely appreciates a card, chocolates or flowers, personalized Post-it notes are a fun and memorable way for your child to say thank you to her teacher.

Personalized Post-it Notes come in different sizes, colors and backgrounds including flower, geography, sports and animal themes. Your child will love choosing from over 3,000 different styles of Post-its for the perfect one for her teacher and then personalizing it with her own words. Why personalized Post-it Notes? That’s an easy one — everyone appreciates having them available and uses them every day, and every time your child’s teacher writes a note on her Post-it Notes, she’ll think of your daughter and smile.

Personalized Post-it Notes

personalized Post-it Notes on 123print.com

I made personalized Post-it Notes on 123print.com and received them in the mail yesterday.  My daughter smiled from ear to ear when she saw the Post-it Notes!
I write notes to her teacher often so I thought it would be nice to have Post-it Notes with my name and my daughter’s name on them already.
Creating personalized Post-it Notes on 123print.com is easy.  First you choose a size; 4×3 or 4×6.  I chose 4×3 as that is a more practical size for what I will be using them for.  Next, you choose a Style, Industry, or Designer Collection.  Then you customize the text by choosing from a selection of fonts, colors, and text sizes.  The entire process took me about 10 minutes.  How easy is that? Priced at just $6.95 a pack, personalized Post-it Notes are a great gift or treat for yourself!

While you’re at the site, why not personalize a set for your sweetheart, or your children for Valentine’s Day, an upcoming birthday or just because? It’s a special way to say “I love you,” and they’ll be reading your message each time they write on a Post-it Note.

Cards are usually put in the recycle bin or thrown away within a day or two after they’re received, and chocolates also don’t last very long. Other gifts may get put on a shelf and forgotten, but people rely on Post-it Notes every day for reminders, bookmarks, refrigerator messages and countless other uses. Personalized Post-it Notes are great ideas for holidays, especially if you have a number of people you want to reach out to.

If you have a small business, consider sending your clients holiday greetings with a gift that will keep you constantly in mind. This effective and unobtrusive form of advertising is very reasonably priced and can lead to increased orders.

Disclosure: I received a set of customized Post-it Notes for review purposes.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Easy Valentine’s Day Craft: Valentine’s Day Heart Clasp Box

Valentine's Heart Clasp Box - valentine craft

My 5 year old daughter is not a procrastinator.   As soon as she finds out that she’s been assigned to do something at school, she does it.  Getting ready for Valentine’s Day has been no exception.  She is in Kindergarten and has never shared Valentine’s that she made before so she’s very excited about Valentine’s Day and couldn’t wait to get to crafting when we had a few extra hours yesterday.

We have an HP Photosmart Premium Touchscreen printer that allows us to print activities, coloring pages, writing paper, and craft templates right from the printer.  My kids love to go to the printer and browse the latest activity pages and coloring pages.  My Mom has the same printer and actually found the Valentine’s Day icon on the touchscreen and printed a few Valentine’s Heart Clasp Box templates out for my daughter and I to try out.  I spent the next hour cutting the box templates out after printing them on cardstock.  We settled on making seven boxes.  One for each of her teachers and an extra in case one of us messed up.

Here’s the Valentine’s Day Heart Clasp Box template:

Valentine Box - HP Printable craft idea

You can print the Valentine’s Box template here.

Supplies needed:

  • A printer
  • Paper – white cardstock is best but not required
  • Scissors
  • Double sided tape or glue stick
  • Candy

Steps:

  • I cut the template out.
  • My daughter folded along the dotted lines
  • My daughter put double sided tape on the box where the instructions call for glue.
  • We folded the box together.
  • Each box took about 10 minutes from print to fold.

After putting the boxes together, we dropped a few Hershey’s Kisses and SweetTarts in them.

I hope you enjoy this Valentine’s Day craft as much as my daughter and I did!  These make great gifts for teachers and friends!
