Think-ets

It’s inevitable; kids get antsy, bored, wound up, and just down right crazy when in the car for more than 10 minutes, waiting for the doctor, or waiting for their food at a restaurant.  Don’t bring the Gameboy next time and see just how imaginative your kids can be with Think-ets.  Think-ets is a game that brings out the imagination in your child and will fit in your pocket, diaper bag, purse, or carry-on bag.

Thinkets

Think-ets is a little mesh bag full of trinkets including a horse, a block, a little pair of pliers and more.  Two or more ages 8 & up can participate in a Think-et game / story telling adventure.  Think-ets is played by making up stories based on the trinkets each player draws before the game starts.  For example, if I chose the horse, block, hat, and pliers, my story may start off something like this:

"Once upon a time there was a horse who was training for the Kentucky Derby.  His owner Sally, would sit with her pretty hat on and watch her horse gallop and jump across the field.  Meanwhile, her friend, Bob, was fixing the door to the horse’s pen with a pair of pliers and a screw driver while his daughter, Jill played with some blocks."

The second player continues the story based on the trinkets she drew.   An alternate way of playing is to draw one trinket at a time, adding one sentence to the story on each turn instead of half of the story on one turn.

For $1.25 you can buy a
Geode "Cave to enhance the story telling experience and for $6.00 you can get a Agate "Stage" that players can use as a stage.

As you can probably tell, Think-ets will bring out the imagination in anyone.   Stories can be as silly or serious as the players want.

Zoobie Pets, a stuffed animal with three uses

Who needs a favorite stuffed animal, a favorite blankie, and a favorite pillow when she can have all three in one super cuddly, wonderfully soft, Zoobie Pet?

Zoobieskojothecroc

It didn’t take long for Madelyn and Sebastian (2 & 8 respectively) to warm up to and fight over the Kojo the Croc we received a few months ago.  Ultimately, Madelyn won the fight and has spent many hours snuggling with Kojo but Sebastian has to help her get the blanket back inside Kojo when Madelyn is ready to use him as a pillow or stuffed animal to carry around.   I know it’s not fair.

Zoobie Pets are available in two collections, Zoo and Safari.
The Zoo collection includes a lion, giraffe, monkey, panda, a hippopotamus and seven more animals.  The Safari collection includes a zebra, rhinoceros, an elephant and ten other animals.  Just about any child should be able to find a Zoobie Pet of his favorite animal.

Zoobie Pets are a three in one plush animal.
When your Zoobie Pet arrives it is a plush animal that is just the right size for your child to carry.  Release the two hook and loop velcro tabs to turn your Zoobie Pet into a super soft pillow, and then unzip your Zoobie Pet to reveal a super soft, removable blanket.  The blanket can be removed and machine washed and tumble dried.

Zoobie Pets are a stuffed animal that your child will have and use for a long time.  And with three different uses, it can replace all those blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals that your child packs in the car to take to Grandma’s house.

Thomas Wooden Railway Pirates Cove

Thomassmall
Beware of the pirates!  Sebastian, my eight year old son, has made three ‘movies’, all titled Indiana Thomas since he got the Pirates Cove Set.  He even brought the train set on our trip to Kentucky this week so he could show it to his cousins.   Madelyn, my two year old daughter, loves to push the trains around the track and try to join in on the movies Sebastian makes.  The set is great for ages 3 & up but I let Madelyn play with it as long as I’m in the room.

The train set
has three caves and tunnels that the trains can go under and over and that hide buried treasure.

The set also includes accessories the Admiral, Thomas, Salty and other accessories.  The realistic details make it easy for kids to create imaginative stories and scenarios.

I didn’t bring the right camera card with the photographs and videos of Sebastian and Madelyn playing with the train set, to Kentucky with us this week so I am not able to post them today.  I will post them when we get back to Atlanta next week.

Visit the Learning Curve website to learn more or buy the Pirates Cove train set.

Gimos Kidswear

Gimosdress

Madelyn, my two year old daughter, loves dresses.  She will take off her clothes and put on a dress if she can get to one.  She’s even worn one of my tank tops thinking it was a dress but I didn’t burst her bubble by telling her that it was just a tank top.  She was so excited when she saw this dress!  It was really cute, she took a deep breath in and then said "Ooooohhh!".  Madelyn is wearing the Ema dress in the photograph above.  I love the long length and the chest area and sleeves are wide
enough that it will probably fit her after her third birthday, next May.

Madelyn and Sebastian recently received three Gimos pieces each.  Madelyn received a swimsuit, bikini, cropped pants, and a dress and Sebastian got a pair of shorts, swim shorts, and a long sleeve shirt.  All of the pieces have held up well after multiple washings.  I worried that embroidery on the dress and shorts might not hold up well but found that after a few washes the embroidered designs look as good as new.  I hand washed Madelyn’s swim suits although I’m not sure if that was necessary. I usually hand was bathing suits and didn’t check the tags.

Gimosboys

The kids looked super cute in the Gimos swimwear they wore during our recent Florida vacation. You can see pictures of the kids wearing the swimwear on our vacation blog here.

Yes, Sebastian is acting like a chicken in the photograph above.. I’m not sure why.  He is wearing the ‘Blue Swimshorts‘ and pictured to the left are the two other pieces he has.  He says the green (‘Letter Print Shorts‘) are comfortable but he did add that they are a little big and he loves the ‘Spider T-shirt‘ which I think will be really cool to wear in October, for Halloween.  Despite the shorts being a little large, he wears them a lot.  It’s a little warm to wear the shirt now but it will worn a lot in October, I’m sure.

I think Gimos clothing (except the girls swimsuits) runs a little large so you might want to buy a size smaller than you would normally buy.  However, I personally am not at all upset by the larger than normal fit because the kids can wear the clothes longer!

I found a coupon code for Gimos online but am not sure of its expiration date.  Use coupon code GIMOS2008 for 20% off your purchase.
