Handmade Blankees

I have never felt a blankee so soft. This blankee makes me warm and cozy and it barely covers my legs… oh wait, it’s for the baby!  Ooops!

The Blankee Company makes the 29" square blankees with embossed, top quality poly that is machine washable and can be dried. What a relief! Madelyn loves her blankee so much that we have to wash it a few time a week and I haven’t seen any "washer wear" so far.

The Blankee Company blankees are the kind of blankee that your child will keep forever. If they made blankee’s in adult sizes, I would buy one in a heartbeat.  One side of the blankee is embossed with stars and moons and the other side is smooth. The outer edge is satin. These texture combinations are great for young babies exploring their sense of touch.

Click to enlarge the photo to the right so you can see the embossed side.

A choice of several color combinations makes The Blankee Company blankee’s an easy gift. I would seriously consider giving these out as gifts to my adult friends. They are perfect for cozying up with while reading a book in your favorite chair.

The Blankee Company blankee’s are the perfect size for use while in the stroller, car seat, or crib… or for use on moms side of the bed!

Lauren G Designs

Remember when we used to write letters? We used to use envelopes and stamps and a mailbox?  We would put our letters in a real mailbox… the kind at the end of your driveway?

Lauren G Designs will make you want to revert back to those child hood days and write again. The personalized stationary samples that she sent Sebastian and I are so energetic and fun, I can’t wait to use them!

We are going to use Sebastian’s personalized stationary as thank you cards after his birthday party this weekend. He loves the designs which include a dinosaur, a football, and a turtle. The bright graphic colors correspond with the envelope color. Lauren, a mother of 2 young children herself, has a great eye for design.

I am going to use my personalized stationary for personal and business correspondance.

Swaddleaze

As most of you know, I am a firm believer in the "4th Trimester".  I believe that babies are not ready for the shock of the ‘real world’ until they are at least 3 months old. Until then I feel as though babies should be held as much as possible, and swaddled. Babies do not have control over their arm and leg movements for the first few months which can cause startling awakenings, and make for a difficult time falling asleep.

Swaddling was the answer to a lot of sleepness times with Madelyn and because I haven’t been able to master the art of swaddling with a blanket, the Swaddleaze has been a lifesaver. When it is time for Madelyn to go to sleep I place Madelyn in the Swaddleaze, zip it up and walk her until she is asleep.  Believe it or not most babies love to be held close and tight and don’t mind the restriction of being swaddled.

The super soft Swaddleaze is a combination swaddler and sleep sack.

Baby Chime – Silver baby rattle

If you are looking for a special rattle that your baby will keep for his/her own children, visit BabyChime.com. Their baby chime rattles are handcrafted using sterling silver and emit the most delicate chime sound.

The rattles are light enough so when Madelyn gets a little excited and hits herself in the face, it doesn’t hurt! I am thrilled about that!

BabyChime.com also sells chime necklaces for pregnant moms. The chime hangs from a 34 inch silver necklace so it is just over the pregnant mom’s belly where the baby can hear the soothing chime sound.  Once baby is born, she will recognize the soft chime sound and associate the sound with feelings of being in the womb.

Baby Cappelli Hats

No, Madelyn’s not sad in this picture. She just woke up and is wondering what is on her head.  What is it? It’s a hat from Baby Cappelli.  My sister-in-law, Kelley, thought surely this hat would look overwhelming on Madelyn but as soon as I put it on her little head, Kelley squeeled in delight saying "It’s SOOOO cute!" I agree.

Baby Cappelli hats are not your typical hat but I have quickly learned that they can be worn with the everyday outfit to spice it up a little.

Designs in include several different types of flowers, dragonfly, ladybug and more.
