Wendy’s new Pick 2 for $4.99 menu and a gift card giveaway!

I was invited, along with some great local bloggers here in Atlanta, to attend a ‘Bloggers and Friends Meet & Greet’ at Wendy’s to try out their new Pick 2 for $4.99 menu.  Talk about a good time!  Besides getting to see Pierra from JollyMom.com and Kia Morgan Smith (Madelyn’s favorite children’s book author), the kids and I enjoyed some great food.

Wendy's Pick 2 for $4.99 Bloggers Meet and Greet

To me Wendy’s new Pick 2 for $4.00 menu is that it is all about portion sizes and healthier selections.  The base menu item is a salad of which there are 4 to choose from including a Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad.. yum.  Then you can add on a drink, a baked potato, a hamburger, or Chicken Go Wrap to complete your meal.  The Pick 2 menu offers 28 total combinations of menu items, and 18 of those combinations are 600 calories or less! All of the combinations combine fruits, vegetables, nuts, dairy and proteins. Take a look at the  Pick 2 for $4.99 menu on the Wendy’s website here.

Jif To Go™ Reduced Fat Peanut Butter and Jif’s Natural Peanut Butter

Jif To Go reduced fat peanut butter spreadWe went to a park today and Jif To Go went with us.  It was a huge hit with the kids and my husband and I loved it too.  We dipped crackers and apples in our Jif To Go. Each Jif To Go Reduced Fat Peanut Butter Spread is 2.5 ounces and is plenty for a sandwich (a couple of sandwiches actually), and to dip crackers or apple slices in.

Jif To Go Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread comes in a package of six convenient, portable 2.5-ounce cups and is a great way for kids and moms to get their protein and enjoy their favorite peanut butter on the go with fewer calories than before.   During summer vacation we are out and about more than any other time of year and it’s important to bring healthy snacks.  Jif makes it easy with Jif To Go.  Now with eight less grams of fat than the regular Jif To Go Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and 16 grams of protein per serving, Jif To Go Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread is a delicious portable peanut butter that is easy to eat anywhere, anytime. Whether used as a dip for pretzels or celery or as a spread for crackers, Jif To Go Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread fits into a lunchbox, diaper bag, book bag or gym bag and is ideal for on-the-go snacking. If you don’t peel the cover all the way off when opening your Jif To Go you can push it back down to cover what is left over, if any.

Jif Natural Peanut Butter SpreadI was pleasantly surprised to find that Jif’s Natural Peanut Butter Spread has just about the same texture as regular Jif.  Natural peanut butter products I’ve bought in the past were either very grainy or kind of juicy.  Jif’s Natural Peanut Butter Spread is just right.

Jif Natural Peanut Butter Spread is available at your local grocery store and is $2.70 for 18 oz. and $4.15 for 28 oz while Jif To Go Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread is $2.99-$3.19. Visit www.jif.com for product information. These two new flavors add to an already variety rich Jif product line giving moms lots of options.  Other Jif varieties include Creamy, Extra Crunchy, Simply Jif, Reduced Fat Creamy, Reduced Fat Crunchy, Creamy Peanut Butter & Honey, Natural, Jif To Go and Reduced Fat Jif To Go.

GIVEAWAY!
Jif is giving 2 lucky readers a 6 pack of Jif To Go Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and a jar of Jif Natural Peanut Butter!  Simply leave a comment below.. related to Jif or peanut butter in general (how much your kids love peanut butter, how long you’ve been a loyal Jif buyer, etc..).
Contest ends July 10th.

New Pillsbury Baking Products – make and enjoy cookies with your kids!

Pillsbury Baking MixesI don’t buy pre-packages cookies because I like to make them, but I rarely make them from scratch so I have to find a middle ground. I am thrilled to have recently found out about and tried a great new cookie mix from Pillsbury.

Pillsbury Baking Mixes give families an easy way to bake delicious, fresh-baked cookies at home without bakery prices.  My favorite of the three new Pillsbury Cookie Mixes is the Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix which Sebastian, my 9 year old, made a couple of weeks ago. How I wish we had some Pillsbury cookies now! It’s been a long and stressful day. My daughter had her first dentist appointment today.. enough said.

The other two of the three varieties are Funfetti® Cookie Mix and Reduced Sugar – Sugar Cookie Mix. The new Pillsbury Cookie Mixes will be in stores in June and the SRP is $1.99. The price is great for a product that you and your kids can make and enjoy together.  Pillsbury’s new baking mixes are quick and easy to make making them a great desert or special snack for you and your kids to make and enjoy on a whim.

Other new Pillsbury products include Pillsbury Brownie Minis™ Brownie Mix and Pillsbury Easy Frost™ No-Fuss Frosting.
