Cottonelle Fresh® Flushable Moist Wipes #GetFresh – A Must Have in any Home with Kids

Cottonelle Fresh® Flushable Moist WipesIt’s something parents of young children deal with every day.. our kid’s poop.  I know what you’re thinking.. ew gross!  Yes, it is!  I totally agree.  It’s bad enough what it is, it’s even worse when your little one comes down from the bathroom fully dressed and you smell something not so fresh, only to learn that she didn’t get herself all the way clean down there.   THAT’s what Cottonelle Fresh® Flushable Moist Wipes are for and THAT’S why we have a tub of Cottonelle Fresh® Flushable Moist Wipes securely fastened to the wall right above the toilet paper roll.  We don’t take chances around here and we make things easy for our kids when it comes to keeping clean.  Thanks to the Mom Central Consulting Cottonelle Blog Tour, I was sent Cottonelle toilet paper and a tub of new Cottonelle Fresh Flushable Moist Wipes.

My kids love them, use them every time they.. ahem.. poop and I feel confident that their nether region gets clean when they use Cottonelle Fresh® Flushable Moist Wipes.  More so than with just toilet paper alone.

I LOVE that the new Cottonelle Fresh Flushable Moist Wipes come in a OneTouch® dispensing tub and a Cottonelle EasyReach™ hanger is included (the hanger may be a limited time offer).

I’ll let you in on a secret.  I use http://twitter.com/#!/mommyinsider/status/78638780868870144.  Just like you, I am a multi-tasking, busy, kid-toting, house cleaning, sweat producing mom and I use Cottonelle Fresh® Flushable Moist Wipes to get a shower-fresh feeling that leaves me confidently clean in between showers.  I know.. enough of that.

CottonelleCottonelle Fresh® Flushable Moist Wipes are available in white, blue, lavender and green Pop-Up® Tubs.  The new OneTouch® dispensing tub and Cottonelle EasyReach™ hanger with Command™ brand strips from 3M. Command™ strips hold strongly yet remove cleanly allowing you to securely mount the EasyReach™ hanger where ever you want without worrying about damaging your walls.

We use moist wipes for dirty bottoms, hands, and dirty faces.  Seriously, I used to use regular baby wipes for cleaning my daughter’s face and hands while we’re out, but moist wipes are so much softer and we don’t have to use them quite as often now that she’s older so I don’t mind spending a little extra money for high-quality moist wipes for on-the-go use.  Carry a refill pack of Cottonelle Fresh® Flushable Moist Wipes in your diaper bag or hand bag so you always have access to that “confidently clean” feeling.  🙂

COUPON! You can get a “Get Fresh with a Friend” $1.00 off coupon here and join in on the conversation about Cottonelle on Twitter here.

Mommy Tips: Remedies for the Summer Cold

I just got over a summer cold and I didn’t like it one bit.  I dread the day when one of my kids gets another cold.  The sleepless nights, tissues everywhere, the visions of germs on every surface in the house.. yuck!  It’s no fun when anyone has a cold, especially a child who doesn’t understand how to blow her own nose.  While it’s usually recommended that children under 4 not take medication for colds, you can certainly use remedy’s 1, 3, 4, and 5.

Kids-Eeze Cold RemediesHere are a remedies for the summer cold should you need them:

1) Make sure you drink a lot of Vitamin C. Vitamin C will help shorten the length of a cold. Try drinking cold drinks such as orange juice or grapefruit juice

2) Pick up a pack Kids-EEZE soft chews. They target coughs and sinus congestion, the main symptoms of a cold or hay fever.  It comes in delicious summer flavors like grape!

3) Try using a humidifier. These are great in the summer time because they do not add any additional heat to the room and it cleanses the air.

4) Honey is one of the best remedies if you’re having a sore throat along with a cold. Try adding honey to every day meals such as pancakes or to your ice tea.

Moms.. this one is for you too..

5) Get plenty of rest. Whether you are sick or not, a good night’s sleep will always improve a person’s overall health.

Road Trip Entertainment: Podcasts for Children

Summer road trips are quickly approaching and I’m desperately searching for entertainment for the kids, but not of the DVD variety.. the whole time anyway.  Listening to podcasts is a great way to entertain the kids without having to play a movie, car bingo, or I spy for the millionth time.  What I love about audio podcasts is that just like when reading a book, they require a bit of imagination.   After the podcast is over I’ll ask them what they think the characters look like, what they are wearing, how old they are.. etc.. That gets them engaged in conversation and usually makes for some pretty good laughs.

The links below will open the podcast page in iTunes.

Kid's podcasts for road tripsHere are a few Kids Podcasts that are fun for road trips:

Land of Nod Nodcast Podcasts – Free.  Videos and Audio.  Length varies.
Notable: Podcast by Bare Naked Ladies

Nick Jr. Podcasts – These are free video podcasts each about 2 minutes in length.
Characters: Dora the Explorer. Diego. Blue Clues.

Sesame Street Podcast Free video podcasts about 6 minutes long.
Characters: Cookie Monster.. and you know the rest. 🙂

StoryNory Podcasts – Free audio podcasts.  These vary in length with some being about 20 minutes long. This is one of my kid’s favorite podcasts.

The Story Home – Free audio podcasts.  Stories include The Velveteen Rabbit, The Little Red Hen, and Pinocchio.

I hope you enjoy these podcasts and if your kids have a favorite podcast tell me what it is in the comments below!

Father’s Day Gift Idea – ‘reasons I love dad’ collar stays from RedEnvelope.com

RedEnvelope Father's Day GiftsI struggle with finding the perfect gift for my husband ever since he made gave me beautifully framed photographs of our kids with a little paragraph he wrote about how great our life is in the middle of the photos, for Mother’s Day. How do you top that?  Well, I try.. every year.  This year I think I’ll feel like I’m at his level of gift giving because I’m giving him these ‘reasons I love dad collar stays‘ from RedEnvelop.com.  These are pretty cool and he will use them, 5 days a week!

The 12 stainless steel collar stays come in two sizes (2 ½” and 2 ¾”) and are tucked beautifully inside a compact travel case made of espresso bonded leather and espresso faux-suede interior.  I had the case debossed with his initials which I know he’ll love. He likes personalized things.  I think it’s because you lose your identity when you have kids so any reminder of who you are, is great!

Messages on the collar stays include “I love you because”…

  • you “helped” me with my homework
  • you checked under the bed for monsters
  • you can “fix” almost anything
  • you gave me piggy back rides
  • you are my biggest fan
  • and more..

Some other bestselling gifts on RedEnvelope.com are the locket cuff linksHere’s To Dad gift basket, and personalizable pocket watch.
