My name is Alicia and I have two
children, Sebastian who is eight years old, and Madelyn born
in May of 2006.
The combination of my love of
children, stylish children's clothes, fun toys, and functional
products for parents is what prompted the creation of The
Mommy Insider, now almost two years old.
I operate the Parenting Universe network of
website's which has helped me establish some great
relationships with large companies who regularly send products
for review on The Mommy Insider.
The Review Process:
When a
merchant, designer, or boutique wants to have one of their
products reviewed on The Mommy Insider, I require that they
fill out this submission
form. The submission form tells me everything about the
product including but not limited to, what the product is and
the cost.
Once I receive the
form submission, I take a look at the product on the
merchant's website and decide if I think the The Mommy Insider
readers will enjoy learning about the product. If I think the
The Mommy Insider readers will like the product, I require
that the merchant, designer, or boutique, mail a sample of the
product to me so I can use the product first hand. In most
cases I use the product for at least one week before I publish
a review.
UPDATES TO THE
ABOVE SECTION:
Due to the large volume of products
that are mailed to The Mommy Insider each week for review, I
now have a wonderful panel of testers as I can't review
everything myself and publish the reviews in a timely manner.
In cases where a
merchant, designer or boutique is unable to send a product for
review, I do require a small payment as this type of review
takes more research time... and as we all know, time
is something that is extremely valuable to parents!

When I first started The Mommy Insider
(then called Mom Finds), I occasionally linked to large
online stores where readers could by the reviewed product
and I would receive a commission. Because I feel like this
is unfair to the readers and makes for a very unfair product
review environment, I will not provide links to stores where
I will make a commission on products reviewed on The Mommy
Insider.
It is very important to me that you as a
consumer and an 'Insider' reader know that I do not benefit
financially from the product reviews posted on the site.
This ensures that I can give my honest opinion of the
products reviewed.
The advertisements in the
left and right columns of The Mommy Insider provide income
for The Mommy Insider. These ads pay for hosting fee's, the
time that our testing panel spends reviewing products, and
other website/business related fee's.
