Disney iOS App and Magazine Subscription Sale! | @Disneydigibooks

Like most little girls, my daughter loves everything to do with Disney princesses and fairies.   While we were at Barnes & Noble not too long ago, she spotted a Disney Fairies magazine and insisted that it would occupy her for hours if I bought it for her.  Well, you know the rest of the story.  Yes, and yes.  She got the magazine and sure enough, collectively, she has occupied herself for at least two hours with the magazine.

Celebrate the Holidays & Make Gifting Fun with California Wine Club | @CAWineClub

The California Wine ClubCalifornia Wine Club did it again for my husband and I.   I’m afraid we are wine-spoiled.  California Wine Club recently delivered a 2nd month’s supply of wine to our door and did we ever enjoy it.  The last few months have been hectic here at the Hagan house and just sitting down to enjoy a glass of wine together is a really nice break for us.

When we receive a shipment of wine from California Wine Club, we know that we are in for a treat.  We usually read Uncorked, their fabulous newsletter, first, then we sit down to enjoy the wine.

The owners of California Wine Club look for the best of the undiscovered, family owned, vineyards, those that you may not find at your local store.  Having the opportunity to try wines that I wouldn’t normally find at my local store has been great! I have learned more about wine than I ever thought I would through California Wine Club, without taking a wine class or attending wine tastings.

California Wine Club’s Premier Club is their most popular wine gift, featuring monthly shipments of two bottles of award-winning wine from California’s best “mom & pop” wineries and their entertaining and very educational 12-page, full-color newsletter, Uncorked®. Wine gifts start at just $36.95*.

Gifting Wine

Besides your kids, wine is a great gift for just about everyone on your list.  Friends, family, and co-workers.  Gift them a month of California Wine Club’s Premier Monthly Wine Club and I’m sure they will continue the service.  You can gift 1 month, 2 months, 6 months, or as long as you’d like!  The membership can be canceled anytime.

Not sure which wine(s) to order?

The California Wine Company encourages mixed case orders in increments of 6 or 12.  Creating and mixed case order will allow you to order at least 6 wines that your friends and family (over 21 of course) are sure to find a suitable wine for themselves to enjoy.

Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun #Giveaway – #bb4Me @DaisyOutdoor

My son is going to be a happy boy this Christmas.  He’s the best boy I could ever dream of having.   That being said, when Sebastian was young, it didn’t occur to me that he’d grow up to love multi-tools, camping, and bb guns.   I don’t know what I expected.  Nothing compares to the good ole’ outdoors to Sebastian.  My Grandfather passed away when Sebastian was about 7 years old but he still remembers his Daisy BB Gun.  My Grandfather had a great big garden with vegetables that he worked hard to grow and would talk of threatening the mischievous garden rabbits with (the sound of) his bb gun, although he never followed through with even the slightest threat when we were around.  His Daisy BB Gun was kept in a gun cabinet behind his recliner in the living room right by the back door, but he never took it out in front of the kids.  He was a very smart man.

Sebastian is a Boy Scout and loves to be outside, go hiking, camping, relax in his hammock, and build campfires.  The only thing that will make his backyard adventures even more exciting is when he opens his brand new Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun, bb pellets, and goggles this Christmas.  We won’t see him for the rest of the day or the day after, I’m sure.

Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun

During our shopping trip to buy the Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun, I was pretty excited.  I actually looked like I knew what I was doing in the sporting goods section at Walmart because it was so easy to find what I was looking for!   The Daisy section at our Walmart is considerable and I recognized the Daisy logo upon entering the section and found the Red Ryder BB Gun quickly.  Gathering accessories to go along with the bb gun was fun too!  I bought safety goggles and a HUGE container of BB pellets for Sebastian to enjoy with his new bb gun.

We are super excited about holiday gifting especially when it comes to our kids, this year.  Every November I get a bit anxious about what the kids will possibly want for Christmas, then it never fails that by the end of the first week of December they both supply us with a list of at least two dozen gift ideas.  My son’s wish list is made up of 80% outdoor products and 20% iPhone accessories and I think between my husband and I and relatives, he will get 100% of the outdoorsy items on his wish list this Christmas.

Before he’s allowed out the door with his new bb gun, he will have to understand a few gun safety tips:

  1. Check your target and beyond your target.
  2. Only load or cock a gun when you are shooting.  He is NEVER allowed to have pellets in his air soft gun in the house and he is NEVER allowed to cock it in the house.
  3. Anyone shooting or near a shooter should wear shooting glasses.  Do not take chances!
  4. Avoid ricochet. Never shoot at a flat hard surface or at the surface of water. Ammunition can ricochet off of water just like a skipped rock.
Find more gun safety rules on Daisy’s Website.
A Christmas Story movie - Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun

My husband and I already have our safety speech prepared.  Don’t shoot at anything except a target,

A Christmas Story

always wear protective eyewear, and don’t shoot anywhere near icicles!   I think you know why.  At least if you’ve seen the iconic Christmas movie, A Christmas Story, you know why.  The Daisy Red Ryder BB gun was available beginning in 1938 and is a well known bb gun as featured in A Christmas Story.  My husband loves that my son will have a Daisy Red Ryder almost exactly like the one Ralphie has in the movie.
You’ll find Daisy Outdoor products at stores including Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Kmart to name a few.

Pants on the Head.. a New Winter Trend?

I’m pretty certain that my son will pursue a career such as with the Coast Guard or being a naturalist but I’m not quite sure down what career path my daughter might head.  She is only 6 so I’m not reading into her future career path too much.  However, I can’t help but think with as much as she plays with fashion designing apps on the iPad and dresses her large plastic horse in her old dresses, and wears pants on her head with all seriousness, she just might do something with fashion design.

Pants on the head winter trend

In all seriousness, she put the pants on her head so she wouldn’t forget to take them to my mom’s house so she could repair a hole in the leg.

It was just hilarious that she kept the pants on her head for the entire car drive to my mom’s house and up into my mom’s house.  This is the girl who has to change out of her ballet leotard before entering my mom’s house because she gets embarrassed.

Honestly, I couldn’t be happier than to see my daughter with pants on her head… she’s usually shy and not so willing to step out of the box.

If only I was brave enough to wear pants on my head.  But I’m still too shy.
