Men’s Quirky Behavior and Why Women Can’t Live Without It

Ball Park FranksAre there days when you simply can’t understand the strange and seemingly senseless shenanigans of your husband, son, or father?

Let’s face it: men certainly have their quirks. I’ve seen plenty of strange behaviors exhibited by my husband, son, and their friends. BallPark Franks is currently running a campaign called “Men. Easier Fed Than Understood” and I can totally relate.  Here are a few examples:

Guy Time

Many men go nuts if they don’t get in at least one afternoon of guy time each week. Guy time usually involves ESPN and meat, washed down with some beer. Although they claim to be laid back with their friends, I’ve found that men often use guy time as a contest about who’s going to win the game, who can build something faster or who can tell the most ridiculous joke.Yes, men are odd creatures. But no, I wouldn’t want to live without them. What fun would life be if I spent all my days with a straight-laced guy who never cracked a smile? And to be fair, women come with their own quirks.

Sports Mania

Yes, football is fun to watch, but no, the world will not end if your team doesn’t win. Surprising isn’t it?  But my husband’s friends don’t  seem to understand this simple fact. Men can get into huge shouting matches with the TV when the big game isn’t going their way. And when your husband’s team loses, you just might be stuck with a big mopey baby for the rest of the day.  Sound familiar?

Meat Lovers

Sure, most guys appreciate sweets from time to time, but give them a nice Ball Park Frank and they’ll really be salivating. I know plenty of men who spend the entire summer glued to the grill. Their meat has to be just perfect, or it is inedible. And heaven forbid his wife or daughter approach the grill! That area is male territory, kind of like those boys-only tree forts my son makes.  Under no circumstance is our daughter allowed in his special fort.
