Kidz-Med VeraTemp Non-Contact ThermometerThere you are.. you just got your sick baby to sleep and you realize that’s it’s time to take her temperature.  You walk into her nice quiet nursery thermometer in hand, you stand above your sleeping baby and wonder.. how am I going to do this without waking her?   Will the probing or the beeping noise wake her?  Which one will it be?  Whichever comes first, in my experience.
Over the last twelve years when taking my kid’s temperature whether while there were awake or asleep, I have often wondered why there wasn’t a non-intrusive, quiet, thermometer available.  All I wanted was a thermometer that I wouldn’t have to stick in my child’s ear, mouth, or butt while he/she was sleeping, in order to check his/her temperature. That day has finally come!

No probing. No beeping. No wondering if you’re going to wake your child up.  I love it!

I received the Kidz-Med VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer at just the right time.   My five year old daughter has not been feeling well for about a week.  You know the drill.. coughing, stuffy nose, lethargic.. but she doesn’t have a fever.  I checked with two thermometers; our old ear thermometer and this new thermometer.  Both thermometers read the same 98.4 degrees.   Which does my daughter prefer?  The “no pokebeeping” thermometer.  The entire family affectionately refers to the Kidz-Med VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer as the “no pokebeeping thermometer” and we’ve used it a lot this past week.

KIDZ MED VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer

The Kidz-Med VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer  has three modes; Body, Room, and Surface.  Use Body mode to take your child’s body temperature.  Hold the thermometer about 2 inches away from your child’s forehead and push the scan button.  The LCD screen lights up with the temperature display right away, no waiting, and you will NOT hear a beeping sound.  Hallelujah!

The Kidz-Med VeraTemp Non-Contact Thermometer is great for germaphobes (that’s me!) because we don’t have to worry about coming in contact with germs that may be on the thermometer. I HATE putting things in my mouth or ears.  Except food and drinks of course but I don’t put those in my ears.

Measuring room temperature

I am impressed with the accuracy of this thermometer.  I tested it next to our thermostat and sure enough, the temps matched.

“Kidz-Med’s new thermometer takes the trauma out of temperature taking. It has absolutely no contact with the skin, is quick and is highly accurate; the ultimate combination for caretakers and parents. We’ve tested the new thermometers in our fast-paced environment, and each time they exceed our expectations, making our jobs more efficient and overall much easier. Children have no problem getting their temperature taken this way, especially since it takes less than a second to get a reading. Every hospital and household should have one of these!”

I’d love to win this because it is always such a struggle to take my daughter’s temperature. We only have one of the stick thermometers that either go in the armpit, rectum, or mouth – which is next to impossible with a toddler.

I would like to win because I used to have an ear thermometer and I always worried that it wasn’t accurate but then I lost it so now I don’t have a thermometer at all. With 3 kids, a thermometer is a necessity especially one that would be accurate.

I would love to win this because I have three little ones (twin one year olds and a three year old) and they all are sooo antsy when I need to take their temperature! It is so stressful trying to hold the babies still so I can get an accurate read with a traditional thermometer, this would make it easier for everyone!

I would love to win this not only for my baby’s temperature but I love that you can also get the temp of the room. My daughter’s room is always cooler than the rest of the house in the winter so I would love to be able to easily see the temperature to see if I need to put her in warmer pjs!
