Atlanta Family Event: Geckos Family Celebration – Sunday, June 6

Geckos Family Day at Fernbank Museum of Natural History is tomorrow.  We went to see the new Geckos exhibit already and the kids loved it.    Your kids will love the crafts, music, games, prizes, and the new BUGS: A Rainforest Adventure in their IMAX theatre.

Radio Disney Street Team
1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Great Hall
Enjoy music, games and prizes with our friends from Radio Disney AM 590!

“Show and Tail”
1 p.m., 3 p.m., Auditorium (limited seating)
Enjoy short demonstrations by Fernbank scientists featuring some of the ‘stars’ the Museum’s collection of live animals.

Geckos Hat Craft
1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Great Hall
Make your own gecko hat to wear home.

Geckos on Canvas
1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Geckos: Tails to Toepads exhibition
Get an up-close view of local artist Kris Meadows, as he creates works of art based on most brightly colored animals on the planet, geckos!

Galileo the Gecko
1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Museum-wide
Enjoy photo opportunities with local performer Kevin Pittman in a special gecko costume created for this event. Don’t forget your camera!

Bugs: A Rainforest Adventure**
Noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., Fernbank’s IMAX® Theatre
Go on a live-action rainforest adventure with a praying mantis, a butterfly and other tropical critters.

Geckos Family Celebration activities are included with Museum admission and are FREE for members. Museum admission is $15 for adults, $14 for students and seniors, and $13 for children ages 12 and under.
