We all know that texting is dangerous when driving. But there is another negative aspect of texting.

!2 STEP PROGRAM FOR TEXTING ADDICTS:
1. I admit that I am powerless over my texting addiction. I now know it’s one of my biggest time wasters.

2. I understand that my phone company benefits from my texting way much more than me.

3. I choose to believe that a Power Greater Than Me (PGTM) can help me overcome this insidious time wasting addiction because I can’t seem to stop on my own.

4. I make a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of this PGTM as I understand it/him/her. I sure hope this works.

5. I agree to look within and take full responsibility for my texting addition. I know that no phone company is forcing me to spend time typing stupid sentences into a miniscule keyboard.

6. I admit to my PGTM, Friends and Everyone, that most of my texting serves no useful purpose, and has been the cause of of much wasted time.

7. I admit that I’d much rather text than do laundry.

8. Now that I have admitted my shortcoming and released this useless habit, I am now ready to stop texting. Right after I send a quick text to my boyfriend to let him know I love him.

9. I make a list of all the people and groups I have blamed for all the useless texting, and am willing to take responsibility for my piles of unfinished laundry.

10. I agree to call the phone company and delete this service. No matter how difficult or painful the withdrawal symptoms may be.

11. I agree to send emails and make phone calls to my friends rather than texting them, even if they complain.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as to how I have chosen to avoid texting over clean clothes, I carry this message to others and choose to embrace more personal and efficient ways to connect with my friends.

I am so disappointed, I missed the show - we have three children, one that will be driving very soon - any way that you know of to get a copy of the January 18 show. I have searched the Ophra web site - no luck. I am surprised that nothing is available purchase, only a transcript, somehow I don't think this would be as effective as watching it on DVD. I would bet future parents of driving teens would be willing to purchase the dvd. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
