Valentine’s Cards from Paper Culture for Haiti Relief

In the last year I’ve ordered cards from Paper Culture for several occasions. A friend’s baby shower, birthday parties, Valentines day cards and of course or annual family Christmas cards. I love ALL of the designs from this cool new personalized card site. The designs of the cards are amazingly sophisticated and stylish. The best thing is that they will address and mail the cards for you. They will also add a personalized greeting, which by the way has sent many compliments my way. And yes, I am happy to take the credit!

If you are shopping for Valentine’s Day cards, Paper Culture will donate 100% of this year’s Valentine’s Day Card proceeds to Haiti Relief. This is a wonderful way to send a Valentine’s greeting to your loved ones and to help send relief to those in need.

My organizer.. my BusyBodyBook Family Organizer and Calendar

I never thought I would be one of those moms who was always on the go but now I am. My kids are 3 and 10 and they actually do things. How strange. They go to swim class, computer class, Cub Scouts, play with friends, and do other things that kids do. All of that means that I have to plan things. I have to know whether my husband or I are going to take our daughter to swim and gymnastics, and our son to Scouts and computer class. Without help I am not a great planner, but with my BusyBodyBook, life is easier.

Believe it or not, I have anxiety issues. Don’t laugh. My BusyBodyBook helps keep my anxiety and stress levels low. Having our schedules laid out in a grid format and with me all of the time (I take my BBB with me everywhere) ensures that I always know what’s coming up in the days ahead and that I know who, what, where, why, and when.

There are four columns on each weekly page. I have one column assigned to each of us and a "family" column at the end. When I need to show my husband what activities are coming up and that he needs to take our son to Scouts because I am taking our daughter to swim, I just open my BusyBodyBook and show him. No questions, no arguments, no doubts about the date or time.. just easy to read facts.

How BusyBodyBook helps me:

  • I can tell if events and activities overlap in time and can plan accordingly
  • I know which of us (husband or I) is available to take the kids to which of their activities
  • I can log and track past and future events
  • I can keep notes
  • I can keep and tear out a shopping list with the removable shopping lists

On The Oprah Winfrey Show today – texting, cell phones and driving

It’s America’s new deadly obsession and millions of people do it every single day – texting, cell phones and driving. On Monday, January 18, The Oprah Winfrey Show presents an hour of television that could save your life.

The Oprah Winfrey show texting and driving

You’ll hear stories of people who have lost loved ones in crashes caused by distracted drivers and also see what happens when drivers who text are put to the test.

It’s an issue that Oprah is passionate about. “Most people think they can text and talk on the phone and they can handle it, and it’s the ‘other’ people who can’t really handle it….Everybody thinks they can handle it. But you can’t. You can’t.”

Be sure to tune in on Monday, January 18th, to find out just how dangerous distracted driving really is, and how you can join the movement to stop it.

Tiny Toms for Kids Provide Shoes to Children in Need

TOMS Shoes is a shoemaker that gives a new pair of shoes to a child in need for each pair of shoes sold. New to TOMS Shoes is the children’s Tiny TOMS line. It is a wonderful gift to provide a child in a third world country with a pair of shoes. Many children in developing countries are at risk of infection when they walk on contaminated soil to school. Providing shoes helps to lead children healthy active lives without risk of injuring their feet.

Recently TOMS Shoes launched a collection of kids shoes that come in the cool graphic prints in slip-on and mary jane styles. The Silver Glitter Mary Jane Tiny TOMS (upper left, $34 at Tomsshoes.com) is sure to appeal to petite princesses and also comes in gold. The Peace Sign Slip-on (upper right, $60 at Neiman Marcus), Olive/Grey Camo Tiny TOMS (lower left,$34 at Tomsshoes.com) and Remarque Tiny TOMS ($34.00 at Tomsshoes.com) will fit appeal to the coolest kids on the playground.

baby kaed Jacey diaper bag review

Baby Kaed Jacey diaper bagI am all about bags these days. I even try to match my bag with my outfit.. that is a big deal for me. I’ve been using a beautiful bag from Baby Kaed called the Jacey and what is really great is that because it’s black I can wear it with most outfits. My daughter is 3 years old so I don’t travel with diapers and bottles anymore but I still carry an extra outfit for her wherever we go and the size of this bag is perfect for those of us who have to carry extra outfits, snacks, drinks, a microwave, and a laptop with us wherever we go.

The Jacey from Baby Kaed is a great size at 15 inches wide and 14 inches deep and the large outside pocket holds my over-sized (not because I have too much money in it.. I wish!) wallet and other things I need easy access to like my compact, lipstick, pens, a little notebook, etc.., easily.
