Mom and Dad – 50/50?

Did you read the recent article "Mad at Dad" in Parenting magazine?

I was pleasantly surprised to read that 40% of moms are regularly angry at their husbands about their lack of help with every day chores, the kids, etc.  Despite the fact that we (myself and the women interviewed for the article) get angry at our husbands we love our husbands tremendously so this is not an attack on men or fathers, but is rather a way for moms to openly discuss our issues about this situation and hopefully share advice and ideas ultimately helping us to resolve one mom at a time.

I started a discussion on my MomLogic group about this very topic and would love for you to join in on the discussion!!

UPDATE:  A father who read my post joined my MomLogic discussion about this post offering very valuable advice/ideas from a man's point of view.  Oh, and the first thing he wrote is "Men are Dense".  Don't you love him already?

The actor showed off pics of his new twins Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip with wife Rebecca Romijn when he co-hosted “Live With Regis and Kelly” on Friday. Take a look at this cute proud father!

They were born on December 28th and it looks like they’re already smiling! He said he already knows how to properly change their diapers — front to back. As for his beautiful wife, he (smartly) gives her all the props: “I have to give a lot of kudos to my wife. [She] is now waking up every three hours and doing what we call the ‘Double Football.’ They eat at the same time!”

Vanna White Makes Single Motherhood Work

This is an excerpt from an the original article found on Celebrity Babies

Although most of America has known Vanna White, 51, for more than a quarter century as the ultra-glamorous letter-turning icon of Wheel of Fortune, behind closed doors Vanna says she’s much more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. “That is the real me,” she tells American Profile magazine. Fortunately, her work on the show has rarely been demanding enough to take her away from the role she singles out as her most important — that of mom to Nicholas, 14, and Giovanna, 11.

Although she needed to hire a nanny several years ago when Wheel was taping shows during the day and night, more recently she’s been going it alone – without hired help, and without a spouse. She credits her family with giving her the inspiration to take on so much at once.

“My grandmother stayed home. In her generation, this is what they did. I have that from her. Then I have the business sense from my mother. She was great with numbers and organization. I definitely have that, as well.”

Nicholas and Giovanna are Vanna’s children with ex-husband George Santo Pietro.

CozyMe Nursing, Tummy Time, and Sitting Pillow

CozymepillowThe award winning CozyMe Pillow stands out from others because of the many ways it can be configured.  It's an all-in-one nursing pillow, a tummy time pillow, and a baby sitting pillow.  The CozyMe pillow has a wedge that can be placed on the inner part of the pillow allowing your baby to sit up and drink her bottle instead of having to lay down completely.

The different configurations and accessories (a wedge and a propup) allow nursing mothers to be comfortable, and helping babies develop their arms, stomach, upper and lower back muscles.

CozyMe Pillow is great for:

  • nursing
  • babies with reflux (wedge allows baby to be propped high)
  • babies learning to sit
  • moms larger than size 6 (CozyMe doesn't have to wrap around you while nursing)
  • tummy time
  •

CozyMe is available in several colors and patterns and you can even buy an extra cover, which is a must have!

U.B. Funkeys

U.B. Funkeys are colorful, unique collectible figures that I predict are going to be around and growing in numbers for a long time. Funkeys provide access to Terrapinia – a virtual world and home to the Funkeys via USB connected to your PC. Each Funkey has its own characteristics and can access different features on the website. There are 14 species of Funkeys and 42 Funkeys available as of this review.

My 9 year old son likes Funkeys’ games and the interactivity of the website. As a mother though, I appreciate the fact that he is challenged by some of the games and that he is motivated to get more coins.

5 steps to getting started with U.B. Funkeys:

1. Purchase a Funkeys starter kit
2. Install the included software
3. Plug the base into your computer via the USB
4. Register on the U.B. Funkeys website
5. Enjoy exploring the virtual world of Funkeys

Go to the U.B. Funkeys How it Works page to learn more. I recommend checking Funkey prices in Amazon.com’s U.B. Funkeys section before running out to your local toy store. Continue reading U.B. Funkeys
