Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Kids

Cabbagepatch1What comes to mind when you think of your childhood?  Your despise of  beets (maybe that’s just me?), Barbie dolls, and Cabbage Patch Kids right?  Did you know that Cabbage Pads Kids are celebrating their 25th anniversary?  And to celebrate, one-of-a-kind replica’s of the original 1983 Cabbage Patch Kids dolls are being released, for a limited time.  This is the first time they’ve been at retail since
their debut in 1983.
The 25th Anniversary ‘Kids are even made with the same sculpts/molds and material.

As I took this 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Kid out of the box, the ‘Cabbage Patchy’ smell brought back memories.  The look and feel of this Cabbage Patch Kid is exactly as I remember as a child. You can’t say that about ‘you-know-who’.  HmmHmm.. her name starts with a "B".

Madelyn has two Cabbage Patch Kids and loves them both.  It’s such a cool feeling knowing that Madelyn is playing with something
that I played with as a child.  I hope that someday I will find
photographs of me with my Cabbage Patch Kids to show her.

The Early Show celebrates
Cabbage Patch Kids 25th Anniversary in this video clip and watch as they talk to a man who has 1,000 Cabbage Patch Kids!  Impressive.

  1. I am actually trying to locate a Cabbage Patch doll by the name of Savannah Flora, born Nov. 21, I believe 2002. I know this has no bearing on your contest, but thought I would give it a try. Savannah is the name of my youngest grand daugter, Flora, is my mother’s maiden name, and strangely enough, my mother;s birthdate is Nov. 21. If you or anyone can help me out, I greatly appreciate it.

  2. wow! 25 years ago, i got my first and most cherished cabbage patch kid. she had long blond hair and blue eyes, like myself when i was an infant! i absolutely adored her and used to braid her hair and bring her everywhere i went! i had a friend come over to my house one time and i told her to be very careful with her and not to get her wet, because the paint (ie: her eyes) might come off. i went to the bathroom and when i got back, my friend cheerfully told me not to worry because “i rubbed your doll’s eyes with my spit and the paint stayed on, so it’s okay to get her wet!” i never invited her over again – seriously! 12 years later we ran into eachother in university and within 5 minutes of catching up with eachother, i told her how mad i had been at her for “jeopardizing” my cabbage patch! we had quite a laugh over that!

i am now a stay-at-home mom, having left my career to stay home with my children and nurture my family. i have a young daughter, maggie rose, and i would love to be able to give her a cabbage patch kid of her own! thank you for your generous offer! 🙂

  3. Wow 25 years seems like yesterday! My daughter was 4 in 1983 and she wanted a Cabbage Patch Doll for Christmas as did every other little girl and boy in America they were hard to find but Santa did not fail! I had to camp out at the Toy store along with 100’s of other mothers it was crazy and a memory we talk about now that she has children that want those popular hard to find toys. Melissa still has her Doll “Amy Beth” she has long blonde hair and green eyes and the look on Melissa’s face when she saw her Cabbage Patch on Christmas Morn was priceless. If I won I would give it to Melissa’s daughter my 2 year old grand daughter Delaine Ann she has brown hair and blue eyes a real Cutie-Beauty! Thank You Xavier

  4. I can remember getting my Cabbage Patch Doll that looked just like me from Santa. I can’t wait to give one to my baby girl that looks just like her. Mabry has dark brown hair and blue eyes just like this doll! So cute!

  5. WOW- A cabbage patch doll- boy does that bring back memories. I always wanted one during the 80’s but the prices were crazy high. This doll looks like my own daughter with all that brown curly hair. We’d cherish it forever !

  6. My daughter got her Cabbage Patch doll for Christmas 25 years ago. Santa could not find one that resembled her fair skin and blue eyes. Those dolls just sold too quickly. Santa left a brown skinned, brown eyed Cabbage Patch Doll under the tree. My daughter, while a little surprised at Santa’s choice, never said a word and just loved that doll with all her heart. My daughter now has a daughter of her own. I would love to give my daughter another Cabbage Patch doll this Christmas so she could share with her – this doll and memories of that Christmas 25 years ago. A Cabbage Patch Doll is always worth waiting for!

  7. i would love to give it to my 4 yr old Jessica. Gosh you should see my daughter. Everywhere we go i get comments “just like a cabbage patch.” Her cheeks, the cheek line, her round eyes, face, just like a cabbage patch doll. You should just see her.

  8. I had one when I was little. I remember I wanted one and my dad said no because it was too expensive and we couldn’t afford it. I saved all of money I got from relatives and did work around the house and at my neighbors so I could save the money for it and I did it. I was able to buy one with my own money. When I got older my brother ruined my doll. I loved it so much. I have a daughter now and I would like to get her one. I can’t afford it either like my parents. I want to try to give things I didn’t have.

  9. We purchased these dolls for our girls over 25 years ago. We even visited the hospital where they were born in Georgia. Our girls loved those dolls. We just lost our 24 year old daughter on May 21st and she would have been 25 years old on May 18th. We are wanting a Cabbage Patch Doll for her niece, our only Granddaughter. It would be wonderful to win that doll for her to keep.
    Thanks for your consideration

  10. Is this over? I just found it. Well, if it’s still open, I want her because I love dolls so much–especially CPK’s because I grew up loving and playing with them! I would SHARE her with my daughter 😉

  11. I still have my first CPK and his name is Roosevelt Argus. He was born on Nov.1. No I do not have his birth certificate anymore I just remember because he was my favorite ever doll. His clothes are faded and dirty but he is still intact and my daughter loves him. She has one of her own but this doll has her features and she would just love it er well maybe I would too. I still love my dolls even though I am 32 years old.

  12. I’m 38, and I definitely still remember my love for my Cabby!!! My mom and grandma even made cute clothes for her to wear!!

If I won, this would definitely go to my niece, Amanda! She would just be so thrilled!!!

    Great giveaway!!

    Thanks so much!!

  13. Oh wow this brings back memories!! I would love to win this doll and give it to my daughter. I have such memories of my mother having one that used to sit in her room. Of course we weren’t really allowed to play with it lol

  14. I would give this to my 4 yr old stella she loves baby dolls and i grew up with these dolls so i know she would love one i think there still so cute

  15. i would love this doll so i could give it to my fist granddaughter. When i was young the cabbage patch kids were such a hit and i never was able to get one!

  16. I bought one of these for my daughter when she was little and she loved it. If I won this I would give it to her little girl (my granddaughter). I’m sure she would love it too.

  17. By the way – I also had a CP horse – did anyone else have any of the animals?!

Holy cow – I remember in detail the Christmas I got my first CP doll – my mom and some other family members went and camped out and fought to get these and were lucky enough to get one for me, my sister, and my cousin and we all opened them at my Nana’s house. This was the only doll I ever played with cause I was a tomboy! When I got pregnant and went to my first breastfeeding class we had to bring a doll – so I went out and bought a CP doll and my daughter is now 2 1/2 and she plays with her. I would love to give this to my younger daughter who will be one next month for her 1st birthday. It’s like a family tradition now!

  18. 19. I would hope to win this special Cabbage Patch doll for my granddaughter, who is 1 year old. She loves playing with one my wife gave her daughter and it is about to fall apart.

  20. My daughter (who is also now 25) absolutely loved her Cabbage Patch doll Carol. Carol went everywhere with her for years including the dinner table. Carol “overslept” in a hotel we were staying en route to Grandma’s house thus getting left behind. Unfortunately when we stopped back by on the way home, someone else had “adopted” her. My daughter was heartbroken for months. She wouldn’t agree to a substitute. I’d like to offer her one now, especially because she looks like my daughter’s Carol!

  21. I would love this for my daughter. She saw a picture recently of me opening my Cabbage Patch Doll on Christmas 25 years ago and said she wished she had a doll like that.

  22. I was old enough to remember the craze long ago when these dolls were first introduced. Now, I’d like my daughter to experience the doll itself, without all the craze. No drama, please. 🙂

  23. If I was to win I would give it to my daughter.. I used to love them as a kid and would love for her to have her very own to cherish too.

  24. My mom still tells stories about how much I loved cabbage patch kids and how I wanted one for christmas SO bad but so did EVERYONE else and there were none left in the stores. My grandma made me one instead. I would love to have one now to give to my first daughter!

  25. Winning this cabbage patch doll would really bring back memories of childhood! Remembering that the cabbage patch doll was the “hot” item to buy many years ago and many mom’s waiting in line at Kmart hoping to get one!

  26. I received my 1st cabbage patch kid when I was 10 I am 33. When i was a kid we moved out of state and didn’t have allot of money and i wanted one so bad, but my parents couldn’t afford on well my mothers bf from where we used to live decided she was going to get me a doll no mater what it took and if you remember in 83 the cp craze was way worse than the ELMO craze. well she camped out and and had to fight for the doll. Well to make a long story short she got her and her name is Flora Diana. I had my first daughter 12 years ago and on her first Christmas unknown to me my mother had her wrapped up under the Christmas tree for my daughter. I didn’t even know she still had her. Well now my daughter has her and she still sleep on her bed. I also have a 8 year old daughter and really don’t have anything to give her from my child hood and I would love for her to have something to have, and I think Flora has been and only child long enough.

  27. I would love to win this for my daughter. She had a Cabbage Patch Doll named “Lottie Penny” and it was her favorite. Unfortunately, we lost “Lottie Penny” along with our home and community in Hurricane Katrina. I would love to be able to give my daughter back some of the childhood memories that she lost because of the storm.

  28. I remember getting my first Cabbage Patch from Santa when I was like 8! How neat to be able to give that to my daughter this Christmas!

  29. wow 25 years to me its just like yesterday god i’am old lol i did not get my frist cpk untell i was past the age of playing with dolls and then it was from my little one so well any time i found a cpk that well no one wanted any more in 2nd hand stores and yeard seals well i would get them and take them home with me and well give them to my girls and well from doing so i also got some of there pets too one thing i got and i know you will not see minny of them is the bunnybee . any how well i love to try and win this for my youngest girl so she too may have a cpk all of her own thanks

  30. I have an aunt who used to “make” cabbage patch-like dolls for us when they were popular, because our family could not afford them. If I won this, I would definitely give this to her as a way of thanking her for her kindness and thoughtfulness.

  31. My niece’s daughter is about to lose her grandma(my sister) to cancer. I want to fill in as a grandma to her. I would LOVE to win this doll, and be able to give it to her. I’d give it to her at Christmas!

  32. A friend recently gave my daughter a “custom” Cabbage Patch doll with her same birth date. It would be wonderful to give this doll a sister! Thanks for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway!

  33. i want to win this for myself. wow, i would love this doll and this way i can sit and talk to my daughter about my memories and how many memories i have with my cabbage patch doll.

  34. Do recall how hard to get one back when; I drove 50 miles in a blizzard to get one for my daugther’s Crristmas. Now I have a granddauhter thet I would like to give this one to.

  35. Wow! Cabbage Patch! That was ‘my’ doll. I would love to win this to give my daughter. Everyone states that she’s a ‘mini-me’. Looks, personality, attitude, likes & dislikes. Even funnier coincedences are: I was born in 1969 she was born in 1996. When I was 8 or 9 there was that massive black-out – when whe was the same age there was that massive east coast black out. I think it would be totally awesome to win a Cabbage Patch for her which would be yet another joining staple between us! Plus, she’s suchhh the little care-taker! It’s so cute, she creates her own beds or sleeping set-up for her stuffed animals – the latest, she took a soft fluffy scarf and made it the bed/pillow. Too cute.

SO….. the long of the short, YES, YES I’d love to win!!

  36. All three of my daughters had cabbage patch dolls and they are all put up in their keepsake boxes. I would love to give my granddaughter one.

  37. I remember standing in line as a child just to be able to get one of these for myself, my brother and my sister. It was very much worth the wait. I loved that doll. Now I would love to get one for my next to the youngest doll. She’s the only one of my 7 children that have had any desire to play with dolls.

  38. If I were to win the cute cabbage patch I would give it to my Granddaughter in hopes that when she plays with her and enjoys her special moments that she may remember me. She lives in another state and I am physically impaired and do not drive. I only get to see her once a year. I would love her to receive this special doll for my Granddaughter is so very special to me.

  39. My sister bought one of the very first Cabbage Patch Kids while she and I were on a trip to Ireland (she bought it in Dublin). If I win this, I’ll give it to her as a wonderful reminder of that trip, plus she could then give it to her daughter, now 27 yrs old and starting her own family, who still has the original doll bought in Dublin. Such wonderful memories!!

  40. I’m 31 years old, so I definitely played with Cabbage Patch Kids when I was a child. My nine year old tomboy daughter would have no interest in this doll, but I have a three month old daughter who I’m holding out hope for! hehehe

  41. I would give her to my niece–the first baby in our family in a LONG time! I loved my Cabbage Patch doll when I was a little girl, and even had a pony she could ride. Fabulous memories that I’d love my niece Mia to share

  42. I would give the doll to my granddaughter.I want her to have the same Joy my daughter had when she received her first Cabbage Patch doll

  43. I would like to win this kid so that I can give it to a relative who has one of the original first issued cabbage patch kids that she sits on her pillow after she makes up her bed. Her cabbage kid has been sitting by himself for 25 years and needs a companion.

  44. I would give her to my neice. My sister and I each had a cabbage patch kid when they first came out and remember all of the excitement and people fighting over them! My neice would love to have one of her own.

  45. when i was a kid my father had gotten me a cabbage patch doll. my daughter got ahold of it and killed it. so, i would keep it for myself.

  46. WOW! 25 years ago (when I was 8 yrs old) I received my very first cabbage patch doll … I still have her to this day.. They were all the rave when I was young and I’d love to win this one so that I could give it to my 8 year old daughter and watch her enjoy hers just as much as much as I enjoyed mine!!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  47. I had a Cabbage Patch Doll growing up as a child.
I would love to win one to give to my daughter so that she can feel as special as I did when I received mine.
Thank you so very much for offering this wonderful giveaway.
I would LOVE to win !!

  48. One of my friends is going through a tough time financially right now, so if I won this, it would be given to her daughter, who does not receive many new toys. It would be awesome!

  49. I’d love to give it to my first grandbaby, who is 8 months old, but at her age, she would not apprecitae it. Instead, I would give it to Toys for Tots for a great Christmas gift!

  50. This would be considered a collector’s item and I would give it to my god-daughter as a gift. She and her mother (my best friend) are avid collectors.

  51. I love cabbage patch dolls.I got one when i was around sixteen and everyone thought i was nuts. I just know my daughter would love one as much as i did.

  52. Ok I so want to win one for me, cuz when I was a little girl and cabbage patches were all the rage I never got one:)
    hehe
Actually I would like to win it for my daughter
    thanks
    Jen

  53. I love these dolls and they bring memories of my childhood when my dad hunted down these dolls in three states for me and my sister! I would love to pass this tradition down .. and give this to my little niece.. who has brown hair and blue eyes 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win such a great prize!

  54. I would LOVE to win this doll to be able to give it to my good friend Shannon Edwards, who has posted above, and is my really cool friend and neighbor.

  55. I would love this doll, as it reminds me of my first Cabbage Patch that I actually plucked when we visited the Cabbage Patch Hospital in GA when we were there on vacation!

  56. I bought one for my daughter when she was younger and she still has it and now it is time to get one for my granddaughter. I hope I win. Thanks for the great giveaway

  57. I already have one for one of my daughters, but you know how girls are.. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!! So it would be great to win one so that each of them could have one of their very own, without the screaming and yelling going on…

    Thanks!

  58. I would give it to my new grand daughter my kids had one and it would be great to put this away for her to love when she gets older. Thank you!

  59. My husband and I have looked for 4 years for a Cabbage Patch doll with our daughters birthday on it. Maybe this will be my lucky chance since I will turn 25 the day after this ends.

  60. oh gosh, I was about 6 when the craze struck – I totally remember coveting one. I know that first Christmas we lived in the middle of nowhere and my parents struck out. My mother ended up making me a similiar doll, I think I called her Lucy? Anyways I finally got a real CPK for my birthday that year about 6 months later – I actually still have her.

If I win, she’d definitely be for our Divine Miss N! (ok, ok, and me too! lol)

  61. Wow! Does this contest bring back memories!! And, somehow, it makes me feel a little old!

I remember when the first Cabbage Patch Dolls came out in 1983; I was 6 years old. Back then, there was a store called Gold Circle in our hometown (I don’t think Gold Circle is in business any longer) that sold these dolls; I guess you could say Gold Circle was our modern day Wal-Mart. In any case, I remember standing in line outside of the store with my mother and father waiting, for what seemed like hours – and who knows, maybe it was, to get inside the store to get a Cabbage Patch Doll. I remember the hope and the excitement that I felt in anticipation of getting my very first Cabbage Patch doll. When the doors finally opened, the crowd rushed into the store and straight to the toy department, specially to the dolls. The whole scene was overwhelming; even for a child! I remember people nearly stampeding to get to these dolls and then grabbing them off the shelves in a mad frenzy. When the shelves were empty, I recall a store clerk bringing a few more from the back – the last of the stock – and nearly being tackled when he emerged back in the toy department with the last precious Cabbage Patch dolls in stock. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to get my first Cabbage Patch doll, Susie, that day.

Ironically, Susie looked just like the Cabbage Patch that you have pictured above, right down to her pretty little pink dress and little white shoes. In fact, I must say that when I saw her my heart skipped a beat with all the memories that came flooding back. I remember my mom and dad telling me that they had picked her because, to them, she looked like me. In the months and years that followed, that poor little cabbage patch doll got drug everywhere I went. Undoubtedly, she was well used and well loved.

I would love to win this doll for a couple of reasons. Selfishly, I’d love to have her to put her in my bedroom upon my dresser where I could enjoy looking at her and thinking of all the great memories that she brings back. Then, someday, she’d be passed along to my daughter along with a story of the memories that came along with her.

This is an awesome give away and I’d love to be your winner!

    Good luck to all!

  62. I named my first cabbage patch doll Christopher Michael. I also named my first born son the same thing. 🙂 I would love for my daughter to have the same wonderful experience with one.

  63. My little girl has been carrying around a Cabbage Patch Kids Pamphlet for several months to a year now, plotting how she’ll get one. Begging me, her grandmother even her Daddy. 🙂 I’d love to win this one for her, it even has her features.
    Thanks for the contest.
P.S. When I was a kid, I had twin baby boys!
My mom was a hero for getting me those.

  64. I’d give this to my sister who had a cabbage patch doll growing up and still loves them. That way she can introduce that same joy to her daughters!

  65. Well, I guess my Lucy is 25 years old now (I got her the very first year these dolls came out). But she still looks great and is a favorite toy for my niece when she visits. Now that I have two little nieces (Libby, now 18 months old, joined the family this Jan), Lucy could use a companion playmate to avoid any conflicts. Hmm, with a 25 year age difference, I guess this doll would be Lucy’s daughter. Wow, Lucy really does look good for her age! Wish I did too.

  66. I would love to give this to our niece. She is always in awe when she sees my Cabbage Patch Kids from when I was her age. I would love for her to have one of her very own. Thanks!

  67. I am 26 so I love Cabbage Patch Dolls. Sadly all I got were the bad cabbage patch doll cards that my brother didn’t want anymore and gave to me. I would love to gift this to a girl of a needy family I know. Their only daughter does not have very much especially when she has 5 brothers.

  68. I have such fond memories of my Cabbage Patch Doll. I would love to win this great doll for my daughter so she can have some of those same wonderful memories.

  69. I would give this to my new grandchild! My kids had a Cabbage Patch doll when the were younger and I still have them boxed up in the basement.

  70. I would give this to my daughter. I have an original cabbage patch doll that is in my curio cabinet, and it would be fun for her to have a doll like mommy’s.

  71. My daughter would get the doll. She had a series of painful medical problems with things done to a child that would have destroyed an adult. Each time something was done, I gave a Cabbage Patch Doll. Soon, her room was full of them. Through the years, germs and age rendered them to an area away form her. Time she got a new one to celebrate her health..

  72. I remember fighting to get a Cabbage Patch kid for my daughter when they first came out — now it would be great to give one to my granddaughter.

    Thanks for sponsoring this contest!

  73. Growing up, I had a Cabbage Patch kid that I purchased with money that I worked hard for. I took such good care of her! After I got married, I stored her, in the original box, in my finished basement. There was a major flood and sewer backup down there, a few years later, and the doll was ruined. I had planned on passing her down to my daughter and now those plans went down the drain, with all of that water! I would love to have this special one to replace the one I lost. My daughter will then have her to pass down to her own children.

  74. After our house caught on fire, we went to live with my in-laws until we could find another place to live. My husband did rescue my dd’s favorite Cabbage Patch newborn from the fire, but for some reason, when we were moving into our new house, we couldn’t find the doll. It’s been 5 months, and dd still misses the doll.

I would give it to dd for Christmas. Not sure if it will replace her beloved Hillary in her heart, but she’d like it.

  75. I would give this to my daughter, she wanted one years ago when the craze first started and just could not afford at the time, what a surprise this would be for her, thank you.

  76. I could give this to either of my nieces, aged 6 & 3. I think it would be wonderful if they liked Cabbage Patch Dolls as much as I did as a kid.

  77. I would love to win this to give to my oldest daughter who will be 34 shortly. We remember me standing in line for hours waiting for the store to open so I could run down the isle and fight to get her first cabbage patch doll which she still has.

  78. I love Cabbage Patch dolls…I had one growing up and when I had my 1st child I bought her one…she is now 13….I have a 2yr old who hasnt gotten the Cabbage Patch exp. yet. If I were to get it….it would go to her…..I am in the Army stationed in Europe and well I have seen one here yet…..or she would already have one : )

  79. I can remember the craze and my grandmother waiting outside the store just to try and get my sister and myself a doll. She was lucky enough to have a friend that worked in receiving and she was able to do that.

I’ve got two terrific boys, but never any girls in the family so when I married my husband I also inherited a granddaughter which I’m absolutely loving so she’d be the one to receive the doll if I won.

  80. I would love to give this beautiful cabbage patch doll to my granddaughter, Cara. It looks like one I
bought her mother (my daughter) when she was that age!

  81. I still have my Cabbage Patch Kids from the 80’s ( in storage of course). I have also started giving my niece, who will be 2 in November, Cabbage Patch Dolls and would LOVE to add this to her collection!

  82. I remember when Cabbage Patch first came out and you couldn’t find them anywhere. This was the only thing my littlest sister wanted for christmas so I drove over an hour to a hotel that advertised these dolls and waited over an hour in the snow to get one (which cost $80.00)- very expensive then – Now, I have two little girls that would absolutely love to have one of their own!

  83. I would love to give this to my niece so she could feel some of the joy I felt with my first Cabbage Patch kid!!!! They never go out of style!!!

  84. I would love to win this for my daughter. I still have all of my old Cabbage Patch dolls and would love for her to have her own.

  85. I know it sounds so selfish but I want the Cabbage Patch doll. I’d been so careful with my through the years but then one day my son got a hold of them and left them within range of the dogs. Needless to say, my dolls went to that big vegetable patch in the sky.

  86. I was just talking with friends about the excitement of getting these dolls when I was a kid and how they used to mail the gift certificates. Both of my girls love playing with dolls. The pigtails remind me of my daughter’s long hair before she donated it to Locks of Love! Thanks.

  87. Gave one to my daughter when she was little, we just adopted a 5 year old little girl, would seem just right for her to have one too!!!!!!!!!

  88. I would love to win one for my neice becasue I had one as a little girl and loved playing with my Cabbage patch doll named Norine!

  89. I lived in Europe until high-school. I’ve only seen the cabbage patch doll on tv, when I came to the States. I think they are adorable. I would keep the doll for myself. I have no kids, but I’m a kid at heart.

  90. I still have my first cabbage patch doll that I got in 1985. I have been collecting the dolls ever since. I even have two original soft dolls hand signed by xavier roberts before they went commercial.

I plan on giving these dolls to my two little girls and that is who I would love to win this anniversary doll for.

  91. I would love to have the cabbage doll because my daughter loved hers when she was little…I’d give it to my grandaughter.

  92. As a little girl, I collected Cabbage Patch Kids. So much so, by the time I was 10, I had nearly 30! Unfortunately, they were lost when I was a teen. Now that I have a toddler girl, I’d love to get her one of her own! Thanks for a great contest!

  123. I would love to win and keep this doll. My mom bought a really BAD knock-off of the CPD from a neighbor who made them in the mid80s. Her scary eyes were painted on fabric and her neck was just a few stitches directly from her chest and back….lol. My brother ripped her head off. 🙁

  124. I would love to win this Cabbage Patch Doll for my four year old grand daughter. I was too old for Cabbage Patch Dolls when they first came out, but, I would like for my grand daughter to own a little bit of doll history. She is very good with her dolls. When she was young – I do not remember what age but probably 7-10, she really wanted a Cabbage Patch doll for Christmas. At this time they were pretty expensive. My other sister and I who were teenagers heard that Xavier Roberts was going to be at a toy store in town signing these dolls if you adopted one. My Mom at first said this was more than she could spend, but my sister and I bugged her till she gave in on spending the money if we would go stand in line.
We stood in line for 2 hours and did get the doll. My youngest sister was so thrilled Christmas morning with this gift. She did not care at all that she only received a few other small things. This is a Christmas that stands out in my memory from growing up.

  135. WOW, what memories, my daughter was a year old & I wanted a Cabbage Patch Doll for her in the worst way. Of course the were so hard to find, but grandma came through with 2,one for Sarah & one for my niece. To be honest,I’d probably keep this one hoping for a granddaughter someday!

  136. Wow this really brings back memories. I was too old for dolls when 25 years ago but my daughter had atleast two or three of them. We lived very close to the cabbage patch hospital near Helen GA . We took a trip up there many times. When my daughter was born she was so small that I had to buy cabbage patch baby doll clothes for her to wear because primi clothes fell off of her. I would love to start new cabbage patch memories by giving my sweet little five year old niece Jima a doll of her own.

  146. I am a HUGE fan of Cabbage Patch Kids. My first Cabbage Patch Kid was quite a story on how my mother came into possession of it. It was 25 years ago when they first came out. My eyes & heart were glued to this doll. I wanted one SOOOOO bad. My family wasnt of the highest of income so to get one of these dolls when the shelves were cleaned off immediately was quite hard. My mother did everything she could to get me a Cabbage Patch Kid for Christmas.
Finally, as desperate as she was, my uncle told her that he knew a man who could sell her one (of course at above cost). She had to meet this man down an alley to purchase my dream Christmas Present. Her heart was so full of excitement for me to open this gift on Christmas morning.
On my way to Christmas my stepfather had just picked my brother & I up from my dads (he got XMas Eve & mornings that year) to bring us to my Nana’s to meet up with my mother to open presents. We stopped to get milk at a convenience store when I saw an old woman walking out & down the road by herself. My stepfather had said we should be grateful for the things we have because someone like that has no one & nothing. My heart broke. I was only 6yrs old. What a thing to say to a child.
We got to my Nana’s & I wanted nothing to do with my gifts. My mothers heart broke – she couldnt wait to see the happiness this Cabbage Patch Kid was to bring only to have me NOT want anything. I decided, along with my mother, to donate my Cabbage Patch Kid to a local shelter along with some other toys that I was no longer interested in.
I was 8 when I received another Cabbage Patch Kid.
I would like this Cabbage Patch Kid to pass on to my mother as a keepsake to a broken heart from 25yrs ago.
Sorry if this was a bit longer than expected!

  151. I would LOVE this cabbage patch, because I had 8 of them growing up! I now have a 20 month old daughter who would love it!! She is such a “mommy” to her dolls already, this would be perfect! Thanks!!

  152. I would dearly love to win for my sweet granddaughter. Many years ago when my daughter was young, we waited on a long line, and bought her a Cabbage Patch Doll. The doll was named Zelma Laney, and our daughter took her everywhere. I am so thrilled to enter this contest, and to even have a chance to win. I would love nothing more than to give it to our granddaughter for her upcoming birthday!
