Discovery Remote Control Chromashift Roboreptile

There is a new pet in our house! It’s a dinosaur. Not your every day dinosaur but a Roboreptile from Discovery Store. The Roboreptile is labeled for kids ages 8 and up but I think Sebastian learned the remote control functions of the Roboreptile pretty well. The Roboreptile is officially called the "Discovery Remote Control Chromashift Roboreptile". The color change is really neat. Sometimes it looks green and brown and sometimes it looks green and purple. It is really cool.  The Roboreptile moves are so realistic that Sebastian’s Nana was frightened when she came in the house and was greeted by the Roboreptile moving his tail and screeching at her. He was in ‘guard’ mode at the time. The Roboreptile has three moods.. hungry/aggressive; satisfied/lethargic; subdued.  It is definitely clear what mood he is in at any given time. His mood can be changed by feeding him (remote control functions) and other activities.

Stereo sound sensors, infrared vision sensors, laser ‘pickling’ sensor
and touch sensor make him aware of the surrounding environment. Sebastian loves the way the Roboreptile can ‘hear’ and ‘see’ what is around him. These features make the Roboreptile seem even more real than he already looks.
The Roboreptile can stalk on four legs, run on two legs, whip his tail, snap and move its head, has the ability to run and jump on its two hind legs, and he can sense being approached from behind and responds by running away!

The Roboreptile has 40 different pre-programmed functions and you can program
your own tricks and movements into its memory which is a great way for kids to get creative with the Roboreptile!

If only the Roboreptile could cook, clean, do laundry, go to the grocery store, change diapers, and help with homework I would be set!

Welcome back!

I hope everyone had a great holiday! Ours was pretty busy as I’m sure yours was as well. We have Christmas at our house every year so naturally, I am exhausted and stressed out today. Sebastian (7 years old) got some great toys and Madelyn (8 months old) got some cute clothes and a few toys. She would rather play with Sebastian’s toys anytime than baby toys. I guess that’s what second children do. I have never checked a toy so thouroughly as I check Sebastian’s toys now so I know what is safe for Madelyn to play with and what’s not.
Review Status.. I am leaving town to go to Florida tomorrow (Wednesday the 26th) and will be back Sunday the 31st. I will try to publish some reviews while in Florida but I can’t promise that I will.  I am not paid to write the reviews featured on the site so I try not to work during vacation.
I hope you enjoy the rest of 2006 and visit ‘The Mommy Insider’ often in the new year to read my reviews, get coupon codes, and enter the contests!

Trendy Baby Girl Varsity Layette

We aren’t a sporty family, but when I put this playsuit, bib, and hat on Madelyn I wanted to cheer.. and I did! I was so excited about how cute the ensamble is that I was laughing and saying "oh, she’s so cute" just like any Mom would when her baby is in a Lil’ Trendy Babies Varsity Layette. Even the girliest of baby girls will look sport in this layette. I LOVE it!

The long sleeve fleece romper is super soft and cozy and features an ’06 or ”07 printed on the front and baby’s name (up to 10 letters) on the back. The set comes with a bib, burp cloth and matching hat.

Lil’ Trendy Babies offers the same set in blue for baby boys!

New For Baby – the hip baby’s first wardrobe

It’s a fact.. newborns have sensitive skin. The last thing they need is to have irritating tags and zippers rubbing on their skin. New For Baby thought of that when designing their super hip line of clothign just for newborns by  making tagless clothing with snaps only.
What newborns do need is soft clothing, socks, hats, and blankets and LOTS of them. New For Baby not only takes care of those need but they do it in a super hip way with their stylin’ pieces for newborns.  New For Baby gives parents lots of gift set options including a "baby it’s cold outside" gift set, and a "new deluxe" gift set both of which can be purchased for a boy or a girl.

I received a few pieces from New For Baby and was amazed at how soft they were even before washing the pieces. The Original One Piece has foldover cuffs so baby’s hands are kept safe inside where they won’t scratch her face. The Cozy Hoodie (pictured to the left) is super soft.. I wish they  made one for Moms!

Stock up on onesie’s, socks, hats, mittens, blankets, bibs, burp cloths, body suits, gowns, and pants at New For Baby.  It’s everything you need for your newborn in one place… and at an affordable price! We love you New For Baby.. now when are you going to come out with a line for older babies? 🙂

Shopping Cart Cover

We’ve all seen shopping cart covers right? I have seen tons over the years.. but I haven’t seen or used one as plush and stylish as the Kangaroodle Shopping Cart Cover.  Your baby will not have access to a tiny bit of shopping cart surface that may be harboring germs (I’m a germaphone.. as Sebastian says it) when you use the Kangaroodle Shopping Cart Cover. This shopping cart cover extends far enough over the edges of the cart that even the most curious baby won’t get to feel or see the shiny metal or plastic cart surfaces.

When we are at Target or Whole Foods (about the only two places we go these days), at least 2 or 3 moms and grandmothers will stop and let me know how cute they think the shopping cart cover is!

On with the fun stuff!  The Kangaroodle Shopping Cart Cover is beautifully made.  It includes 2 loop attachments so you can attach your baby’s favorite toys and she will be well entertained.  There are also 2 inside pockets that will hold a bottle, sippy cup, or other toys for easy and quick access during your shopping trip.  The seat belt is very sturdy and goes all the way around the back of the cart seat for added safety and protection.  I love that the leg holes are large as they make for easier ‘loading’ and ‘unloading’ of the baby once she is wearing shoes.

I highly recommend purchasing the Kangaroodle Shopping Cart Cover for yourself and your mom friends!
